Teflon, the legendary non-stick coating from DuPont that is usually used on pots and pans, now is keeping clothes stain-free with stellar results. In its newest formulation, it is being applied to cotton, wool, linen, silk, blends and microfibers. This results in fabrics that are highly resistant to stains from water, dirt, oil and food, and just as soft, sharp or colorful as ever. Teflon fabric protector doesn’t alter the feel, drape or hue of a fabric. Best of all, it can significantly reduce dry-cleaning bills. Want to check it out yourself? For now, Teflon-coated clothes are available through L.L. Bean, Eddie Bauer, Lands’ End and Adrianna Papll, and some famous designers are about to start using it.
