Ethel Dedes, 87, died Thursday in Elk Grove Village, where she had lived for the past 11 years. The daughter of Greek immigrants, she lived in Chicago for 60 years. Mrs. Dedes was an active member of the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago and later a member of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Des Plaines. She was a homemaker and worked in retail sales until her retirement at 76. She is survived by her daughter, Bette Lambros; her son, James; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral in St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, 133 S. Roselle Rd., Palatine.
