All the people who have written letters about their disgust with Ken Starr’s investigation into possible wrongdoings by President Clinton have written complaints such as “enough already” and “who cares what Bill Clinton does with his private life.” They’ve moaned about the millions “wasted” on the investigation and say that we should instead focus on more important things.
Personally, the question of whether I can trust our president to tell the truth on any issue is important to me. It saddens me to think there are people who don’t seem to care that the president was unfaithful to his wife as long as their own economic future is rosy.
Where were you when George Bush and Ronald Reagan were being investigated? Where was the sense of outrage at all the special prosecutors who were zealously pursuing them? Where was your disgust when the millions were being “wasted” on the scandal-mongering of Bush and Reagan? I don’t recall all this venom being aimed at any of the previous special prosecutors. Could it possibly be because Reagan and Bush were Republicans and Clinton is a Democrat?
