Herbert A. West, 55, a former Downers Grove salesman who had worked as a limousine driver in recent years, died July 29 in Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield of injuries he received when his limousine was involved in an auto accident. Mr. West was a Army veteran. He lost his job as a salesman in a company downsizing move in the early 1990s and had just begun to reshape his life, said his wife of 21 years, Beverly. “He was the kind of guy whose job was very important to him, and it hurt him to be out of work for a time,” she said. “Things seemed to be regrouping for him.” Besides his wife, survivors include a son, Kyle; two daughters, Kristin and Kelly; his parents, Ira and Inez West; and a brother, Andra West.
