I am a naval officer stationed at the Northwestern University Naval Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Unit in Evanston. We train more than 60 midshipmen for future service to our country as commissioned officers of the Navy and Marine Corps. Several of these midshipmen are female.

If my commanding officer had “inappropriate” sexual relations with a female midshipmen and subsequently lied about it, he would immediately be relieved of command.

Would someone please explain to me why our country sets lower standards for its commander in chief than it does for a commanding officer of our Navy? Is there no honor left in the leadership of our country?

I ask the American people to put aside their personal economic desires and consider the impact of a breach of trust between the president and the people he serves. This is our country. Let’s take it back by setting the highest expectations of integrity and honor.
