Bill Clinton took an oath, under God, when he married his wife, which he has clearly broken. He took a similar oath, under God, to uphold the laws of this country when he became president.

For seven months, at the expense of Monica Lewinsky, Linda Tripp, his family, his friends and the American people, he prolonged our nation’s misery by lying. In his finger-wagging denial, he abused the power of his office by demanding a benefit of doubt he knew from the beginning he did not deserve. His actions are both sad and shameful.

Bill Clinton does not deserve to be president. To move past this episode, the country must move past Mr. Clinton. He shouldn’t resign because he may be impeached, he should resign because he has done our country great harm and we can’t trust him not to do more.
