A Chinese rocket carried two Motorola Corp. satellites into orbit, completing the Schaumburg-based company’s launch plans for a new global satellite communications network, the Xinhua News Agency said. A Chinese Long March 2C rocket lifted off from Taiyuan in northern Shanxi province, carrying the two U.S.-built Iridium communications network satellites, Xinhua said. The launch marked the fourth time China has carried Iridium satellites into orbit; the two satellites are the last in Motorola’s plans to establish the 66-satellite wireless communications network.
