Paulette R. Matula, 51, a longtime resident of Des Plaines and employee of the Jewel Food Store there, died Tuesday in her home. Born in Chicago, Mrs. Matula was a graduate of Maine West High School in Des Plaines. She worked as a cashier and clerk at the Jewel in Des Plaines for 34 years. “She was great to everyone,” said her son Jerry. “She loved life, people and her family.” Other survivors include her companion, Robert Atkinson; a son, Eric; two daughters, Lori Anne and Dawn; three brothers, Michael, Charles and Victor Locascio; a sister, Virginia DuRard; and seven grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.
