Peapod Inc., the Skokie-based Internet supermarket company, said it signed a marketing alliance with Internet search-site operator Excite Inc. Financial terms were withheld. Peapod said the deal makes it the exclusive on-line grocery service promoted by Excite’s co-branded portions of Netscape Communication Corp.’s Netcenter, including shopping, health and lifestyle channels and its search function.
