After a three-year hiatus, Venetian Night is returning to the Chain o’ Lakes.
The festival, including such entertainment as a boat parade and fireworks, is sponsored by the Chain o’ Lakes Recreation Authority, said Shari Diebold, manager of Parrot’s Cove on Channel Lake.
A tropical theme for this weekend’s festival will be promoted through food and drink specials at 25 restaurants and bars on the Chain o’ Lakes, said Diebold. The Aquarium tavern on Fox Lake will host a minnow-swallowing contest at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Decorated boats will parade from the 100 Club on Fox Lake to Borgata’s Restaurant at Meyers Bay on Pistakee Lake at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. There will be fireworks over Pistakee Lake at about 10 p.m.
Raffle proceeds will benefit Lambs Farm and the Cystic Fibrosis National Foundation.
