I am a grandmother of six, and one on the way. I have to keep my grandchildren so much because their parents don’t have time to be parents.

I read the story (Page 1, July 19) about Tina Olison fighting for her rights to her child. Tell the Burkes, from the bottom of my heart, thanks for caring for a black child and wanting to give him a chance to lead a normal life with parents who can afford a child and have the patience to raise one.

I don’t care that the Burkes are white. I wish my grandchildren had a Mr. and Mrs. Burke in their lives.
