Nate DiFatta, 92, of Palatine, retired in 1974 as a supervisor at the Illinois secretary of state’s driver’s license examining bureau on North Elston Avenue in Chicago, after more than 10 years of service. Mr. DiFatta died Thursday in his home. Mr. DiFatta was a former trustee of the Palatine Rural Fire Protection District. Among his survivors are four sons, Francis, John, Robert and Edward; two sisters, Rose Nardi and Mary Peoppel; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Theresa Catholic Church, 467 N. Benton St., Palatine.
