Mr. Clinton’s mea culpa epitomizes the old story about the youth who murdered his parents, and then pleaded for leniency because he was an orphan.

After admitting that he lied all along, to the public and to his family and friends, and after he said that he assumed full responsibility, in the next breath he blamed others for prolonging the investigation and putting innocent people to all that trouble.

That is not an apology or contrition but sheer arrogance.
