Forget about Curtis Enis. He’s definitely not what everyone hopes he’ll be. Walter Payton could come out of retirement and make Mr. Enis ashamed of himself.
As for the offensive line, watch the Denver Broncos’ Super Bowl performance last year. No 350-pound-plus linemen, just pure desire, pulling guards, pushing Packers defensive linemen until they couldn’t get up. Reggie who? White was so physically beat, he took himself out.
On the defensive line, 1985 is 13 years in the past. That defense was and always will be the greatest ever. No questions asked. Now 1998 is probably the ’70s revived: uninspired coaches making excuses for poor execution. Mike Ditka was a coach who demanded respect and made players respect the game. He would have never allowed Bryan Cox to point a finger in his face. Mike would have bitten it off.
