Pearl Silver, 81, known affectionately as “Pearly-Pearly” and “Sweets” by members of the Chicago Bulls when they used to train at the Multiplex, died Monday in her home in Lincolnshire. Mrs. Silver faithfully attended every Bulls practice for seven years from the late 1980s to the early 1990s, said her daughter, Joyce Gerstein. She served the players sweet rolls and coffee cakes after practice. Mrs. Silver’s love of basketball dated from her days as captain of the women’s basketball team at the former Herzl High School on the city’s West Side. In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Silver is survived by her sons, Dr. Richard and Barry; another daughter, Cheryl Levin; three brothers, Albert, Harold and Leo Margules; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Weinstein Family Services Wilmette Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd. in Wilmette.
