Mohammed Alauddin, 52, died Friday of cancer in Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. Mr. Alauddin worked as an administrator at Midway Laboratories, a home-care and medical facility in Chicago. He received his bachelor’s degree from Osmani University in India and his master’s degree from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Friends and family members described him as a strong-willed and courageous man who became the head of the household after his father died. “Even when he got married, he guided us like a father,” said his brother, Mohammed Shameem. Other survivors include his wife, Saliha; a son, Tariq; six sisters, Shakera Naz, Fatima Kaneez, Arfi Bano, Asma Bano, Sabera Bano, Tahera Bano; and his mother, Sajida. Funeral services were held Saturday.
