Trampolines have totally taken off in popularity lately – and that worries some people, from doctors to parents. Some folks say trampolines aren’t meant for child’s play; they should be used only by trained athletes (for instance, gymnasts learning tumbling skills) under a coach’s supervision. Still, we know that some families won’t be able to resist buying one. So we were glad when we came across Sports Parents, an occasional supplement sent to subscribers of Sports Illustrated for Kids. The supplement ran trampoline tips from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, and we’re rerunning them below. (SI wrote them directly to parents, and we left the wording that way. If you’re begging for a trampoline, you could use these rules as a jumping-off point for negotiations with your folks.)
