Thomas Grundeis, 51, of Glenview, died Sunday in Glenbrook Hospital, Glenview. Mr. Grundeis was born in Evanston and had lived in Glenview for 33 years. “He was a very loving person, very giving,” said his older brother, Ernest Grundeis. “He was more than glad to help people out.” At 19, Mr. Grundeis was drafted and spent a year in Vietnam. For 28 years, he worked for Commonwealth Edison and most recently was a crew leader in charge of an underground-repair truck based in the Northbrook office. He retired two years ago after he was diagnosed with cancer. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Blvd., Skokie. The funeral service begins at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
