Margaret A. Provost, 86, a 43-year resident of Carpentersville, died Saturday in Asta Care Center of Elgin. Mrs. Provost, a native of Chicago, was a homemaker and a former legal secretary. She was a member of St. Monica Church, Carpentersville; the Dundee Township 50-plus Club; and the Dundee Township Senior Center. Mrs. Provost was a former member of Dundee Dandies and Willow Lake Swingsters square dancing clubs. “Marge and her husband, Ed, used to sing with the Singin’ Swingin’ Seniors band at the (senior) center,” said Helen Skelnik, Salvation Army volunteer at Dundee Township Senior Center. “They used to visit nursing homes and sing. She was a very lovely person, very friendly.” She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Edmund C.; a son, Robert; two daughters, Ruth Helm and Mary Helin; and nine grandchildren. Prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday in Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee, followed by mass at 10 a.m. in St. Monica Catholic Church, 90 N. Kennedy Drive, Carpentersville.
