Villa Park trustees Monday night gave tentative approval to zoning changes that would regulate tattoo and body-piercing establishments.

Under the new regulations, which may be formally adopted Nov. 23, the village would require any tattoo and piercing parlors to locate in light industrial districts.

In addition, trustees gave a tentative go-ahead to strict licensing requirements, taken from Winfield’s recently adopted ordinance, that would force such establishments to submit to village inspections, to only perform body piercing and tattooing under the supervision of a licensed physician or osteopath.
