Concerned about appearance and density issues, Oswego trustees sent Surety Builders back to the drawing board with its plans for more Heritage subdivision duplexes.

“You can’t make a duplex look like a single-family home,” said Trustee Craig Weber.

Attorney Daniel J. Kramer, representing Surety Builders, said his clients thought the new design was a nicer look, but he said that if it became a “cause celebre,” Surety would revert to a traditional duplex design.

The builders already have erected traditional duplexes on a portion of the subdivision.
