The top 24 NHL scorers were separated by only five points through Wednesday. Should this logjam continue a multiple tie for the Art Ross Trophy is possible. There never have been three or more players tied for the scoring championship, but a two-way tie has occurred on three occasions with the tiebreaker being goals scored. %% %%

A CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK
Through Thursday, Brett Hull of the Dallas Stars was three points away from becoming the 53rd member of the NHL’s 1,000 point club. The “Golden Brett” will join his father Bobby, (the “Golden Jet”) to become the first father and son to reach this exclusive milestone. However, this is not the first league accomplishment they both have managed to attain. The Hulls were also the first father-son Hart trophy winners (league MVP), Lady Byng trophy winners (sportsmanship), 50 goal scorers and NHL 1st Team All-Stars. %%
