Steve Chapman has written a simple and elegant piece titled “Why India wants entrance into the nuclear club” (Commentary, Nov. 19). This attitude, “do as I say but don’t do as I do,” makes the U.S. government deeply resented by most nations and people around the world.
How I wish we could become more thoughtful and reflective as a nation and treat others as we would want others to treat us. Then we would earn the respect of other nations and maybe even our leadership would be welcomed.
