Felipe “Pety” Cabrera, 75, died Saturday in his Naperville home. Born in Havana, Mr. Cabrera attended the Cuban Military Academy and was an assistant to the chief of staff of the Cuban army in the mid- to late 1940s. He later was stationed at the Cuban Consulate in New York City. Mr. Cabrera and his family moved to the United States in 1962. He was employed for a time with Kroehler Manufacturing Co. in Naperville and later worked in management for Illinois Bell Telephone Co., from which he retired in 1985. Survivors include his wife, Celia; two sons, Phillip and Carlos; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, followed by a mass at 9:30 a.m. in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 26 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.
