With 27 singers and a 29-piece orchestra, the New York City Opera National Company is off and running on a nine-week, 56-performance tour, performing “Madama Butterfly” in 47 cities and 23 states through March 28. The touring production, with Christopher Larkin conducting, opened in San Antonio.
