Take a trip into Lake County’s past and discover things you never knew about your own community in a program sponsored by the Lake County Forest Preserve District.

Find out how modern Lake County grew steadily from a loose collection of small settlements in the 1830s to a thriving collar county by the 1930s, filled with quaint resort towns, important industries and vast farms that helped feed the nation. Comic legend Jack Benny as well as Jelly Belly jelly beans have roots in Lake County.
