William Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, says President Clinton should apologize for an “irresponsible” remark about Hitler at the annual Presidential Prayer Breakfast in Washington.
Clinton had said, “I do believe that even though Adolf Hitler preached a perverted form of Christianity, God did not want him to prevail.”
Donohue said the Nazi leader “was a neo-pagan terrorist” who tried to destroy the church.
