It is regrettable that the Tribune (“Residents blame Shiller for 46th Ward shelters,” Metro Chicago, Feb. 10) reported only on the small protest that occurred prior to the Uptown Aldermanic Forum. The article dealt with only one Uptown issue, yet the forum was attended by more than 300 Uptown residents and comprehensively addressed the community’s issues. Nary a word from the Tribune about the forum itself.

Co-sponsored by the Uptown Chicago Commission and the League of Women Voters of Chicago, the Uptown Aldermanic Forum was one of the city’s largest candidate forums this election season. The 46th Ward candidates and 48th Ward candidates went on record and communicated their positions. This event provided the information residents need to make up their minds on Feb. 23.

The Tribune could better serve its readers by accurately and objectively covering such worthwhile and topical events.
