Joseph E. Hewitt, 68, of Batavia died Saturday in Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. Mr. Hewitt worked as an air-traffic controller for 30 years, then worked an additional 10 years for Itasca Construction Co. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Aurora Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Patricia; a son, Robin; a daughter, Kelly Dakan; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia.
