Mae Vehe, 90, a lifelong resident of Barrington, died Saturday in Governors Park Nursing Home there. Mrs. Vehe was a homemaker and previously farmed there with her late husband, Edwin Vehe. “She had a very old farm, over 100 years old, on Cuba Road, with the original buildings in very good condition,” said Amy Loomis. “She lived on the farm until a year or two ago. She belonged to the Afternoon Guild at our church for many years. She was a lovely lady. She was just a good person,” said her niece, Jane VanBlake. “Anyone who ever knew her said she was a fine lady, well worth knowing. She was kind to everyone. She never had a bad word to say about anyone.” Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Stirlen-Pieper & Davenport Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St., Barrington. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
