Rosalind Keeling, president of SOAR, the Streeterville Organization of Active Residents, complained in a Feb. 21 letter to the editor that ongoing development threatens to suffocate the vitality and strangle the energies of Streeterville.
At the January SOAR board meeting to discuss a behemoth development proposed for East Pearson Street, dozens of concerned citizens delivered more than an hour of passionate and engaging testimony, most of it urging SOAR to wait for the city to develop a comprehensive plan before SOAR gave its approval to the Pearson Street development. But SOAR’s board summarily and unanimously approved the development.
