Court Theatre will play host to the return of director JoAnne Akalaitis (“The Iphigenia Cycle”) and a revival of Eugene O’Neill’s “Desire Under the Elms” in its line-up next season.

Akalaitis, whose Court version of “Iphigenia” is now playing off-Broadway, will stage “Life’s a Dream,” a new translation of the 17th Century drama by Spanish playwright Pedro Calderon de la Barca, Sept. 11-Oct. 10. “Desire,” about a 76-year-old patriarch and his young bride, to run Jan. 22-Feb. 20, will be a coproduction with the Freedom Theatre of Philadelphia, directed by Walter Dallas, who plans to relocate the 1850s New England setting to 1930s Georgia.

Three additional offerings will be announced later. For subscription information: 773-753-4472.
