WNBA basketball star Sheryl Swoopes has proven time and again that she’s got game. Selected Best College Female Basketball Player and National Collegiate Player of the Year in 1992-1993, Swoopes averaged 13 points per game when she helped the U.S. bring home the Olympic gold medal in 1996.

The Houston Comets center adds the title professional lecturer to her resume Friday when she delivers a speech at the Youth Summit, a seminar at V-103’s Expo for Today’s Black Woman.

Swoopes and other African-American celebrities, including Tavis Smiley, Denise “Vanity” Matthews and Dick Gregory, offer their insight during a variety of seminars at the expo, which runs from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon-7 p.m. Sunday at McCormick Place North, 2301 S. Lake Shore Drive. Tickets are $8. 312-360-9060.
