We were appalled at Steve Chapman’s column on Social Security. It is a prime example of where an alleged journalist can shoot off his mouth with impunity. Mr. Chapman’s callousness is only exceeded by his ignorance.
The great majority of our people, including the young and middle-aged, are overwhelmingly in support of the goals and benefits of the Social Security system. It is detractors and fear-mongers like Chapman whose poison pens provoke cynicism and disinformation.
