Dr. John E. Grady, 70, of Lombard died Friday in Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He received a bachelor’s degree from Elmhurst College, a master’s degree from Northwestern University and a doctor of dental surgery degree from the College of Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was a member of the American Dental Association and practiced dentistry in Lombard and Glen Ellyn. Dr. Grady also was a member of the Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II and in occupied Korea after the war. Dr. Grady was a lieutenant in the Illinois National Guard. He taught for 14 years at the University of Illinois Dental College in Chicago and was a life member of the Field Museum in Chicago. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann R.; two daughters, Susan Caldwell and Lisa Laske; two sisters, Mavis Carr and Peggy Smith; and two grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in First Church of Lombard, 222 S. Main St., Lombard.
