Question: I keep hearing about cookies on the Web. What are they?

A Web “cookie” is a small piece of information sent by a Web server to store on a browser. It’s used to gather information about the Web sites you visit. It also is used by advertisers to target potential buyers. If you’re concerned about privacy, most Web sites have an option that allows you to control or eliminate Web cookies. Plus, there is anti-cookie software available. Learn lots more about cookies at Cookie Central (www. cookiecentral.com/).
