Wayne L. Clark, 56, of Chicago’s North Side, died March 13 of a heart attack at his home. Mr. Clark was born in Chicago and reared on the South Side. He graduated from South Shore High School in the early 1960s, and later the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was drafted during the Vietnam War and was assigned to serve in Germany. Returning to the United States, he obtained a master’s degree from Chicago State University and began a teaching career. From 1974 to 1977 he taught at the Hadley Middle School in Glen Ellyn. He was a media specialist from 1978 to 1989 at Naperville North High School and, more recently, at DuJardin Elementary School in Bloomingdale. Mr. Clark had a passion for video technology, and long before video cameras became popular, he was recording his family’s milestones. “We don’t have enough pictures of him because he was always behind the camera,” said his daughter, Jennifer Drew. Mr. Clark also worked as a videographer at FirstLight Production in Burr Ridge. He had a passion for antique cars and was restoring a 1953 Hudson convertible at the time of his death. Survivors, besides his daughter, include his wife, Marlene; a sister, Carol Barlow; and two grandchildren. Services for Mr. Clark will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Grace Lutheran Church, 493 Forest Ave., Glen Ellyn.
