Billiards soon could become the newest form of entertainment at Enchanted Castle.

The Village Board voted last week to grant a pool hall license to the entertainment complex, clearing the way for Enchanted Castle to add as many as 10 pool tables and games. The tables would be part of a 4,000-square-foot addition to the existing facility in the Lombard Pines shopping center. An application for the expansion has been submitted and must be approved by the village Planning Board.

The pool tables would be rented by the hour to family and corporate guests and would be closely monitored to prevent unruly gatherings, said Elena Ruane, executive director of Enchanted Castle. Beer and wine would likely only be served for private parties in the billiards area, she said.
