Gery Chico’s support of the Chicago school board’s plan to take some control of the principals away from local councils is well-placed. The “old way” wasn’t working, and ineptitude of those at the top was a prime contributing factor. Frankly, based on the results that have been achieved by Chico and Paul Vallas, if they advised every member of every local council to jump off the Sears Tower, the response should be, “Yes, sir, and how soon.”
