The bottom line is: If you can’t score 820 on your SAT, you are not qualified to do college work. The fact that coaches want to lower the standards for an athlete based on his pigmentation demeans the athlete and the whole idea of college athletics.

Why stop at SAT scores? Why not drop all entrance requirements? Look at the graduation rate for these marginal students.

Forcing these students to study harder and learn more will benefit them long after they stop playing sports.
