Call it nostalgia, but I was disappointed to see the new format of the Books section in the Sunday Tribune. We are all resistant to change, so I suppose I ought to give the new layout a chance. But it was enjoyable to have Books be not just another section of the paper but a gem to be found hidden deep in the abyss of the Sunday paper–more like a book than a newspaper in its half-sheet design. Now it is lost among other sections of greater bulk and similar title bars.
Kudos for striving to improve the section–adding more content was a great idea. It is just a shame that it had to be at the expense of the section’s unique character.
