The Magic continued its season-ending push for the best record in the Eastern Conference, beating New Jersey behind Nick Anderson’s season-high 40 points.

The victory gave Orlando (32-17) one more win than conference leader Miami (31-15). The Magic, however, trail its intrastate rival by one-half game in the race for the top mark because the Heat has two fewer losses.

Orlando, which has won three straight after a five-game losing streak, will have four days off before closing the regular season at the United Center against the Bulls on Wednesday night. Miami has four games remaining.
