Regarding American Airlines Flight 1420, Tribune transportation writer Jon Hilkevitch reported that military aircraft are designed to fly through the most threatening weather (“Fatigue studied in Little Rock crash,” News, June 4). As an airline pilot with 40 years flying experience, I disagree. Military aircraft, transport or fighters, face the same hazards in weather as commercial aircraft.
