Our schools and infrastructure need improving, so Gov. George Ryan rammed through a $12 billion package. I can’t imagine what he’ll do next, or what it might cost me. Some improvements in Ryan’s package require community matching funds that will probably raise my property taxes.
Such a major program should have been part of Ryan’s campaign platform. If I can’t trust campaign promises, I’ll have to change the way I vote.
