Timothy Sullivan, 51, of Schaumburg died Friday in his home. A Chicago native, Mr. Sullivan retired in the early 1990s after working for more than 15 years as a federal civil servant. Mr. Sullivan served as a Marine Corps sergeant during the Vietnam War. He received the Presidential Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Navy Commendation Bar and the Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation, among other decorations. Mr. Sullivan was a member of the Marine Corps League, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9284 in Elk Grove Village, and American Legion Post 690 in Palatine. “He was a loving father, friend and brother,” said his son, Michael. “He was very proud of his service to the country in the Marine Corps. He loved his parents (the late James J. and Loretta Sullivan).” Other survivors include a daughter, Sharon; three brothers, Daniel, Jeremiah and James, and a sister, Maureen Zarlenga. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights.
