Geneva Beard, 94, of Elgin, a retired nurse, died June 9 in her home. Born in McHenry, Ky., Mrs. Beard moved to Elgin in 1935 and worked as a nurse in the Elgin Mental Health Center for 43 years. She retired in 1977. She is survived by her nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church of Elgin, 240 Standish St.
