As I watched the latest updates on the shooting spree by Benjamin Smith, which was a disgusting, senseless act of hatred, I saw all of the coverage from Ricky Byrdsong’s funeral and realized that I didn’t even know the other victim’s name. I didn’t know Mr. Byrdsong’s name until the shooting either. I’m just so fed up with the news media’s extensive bias toward famous people. Just because Mr. Byrdsong was more well-known does not give the media the right to pretty much ignore reporting about the family of Won Joon Yoon.
