An Antioch-based developer has proposed building 81 homes at Illinois Highway 59 and Chris Larkin Road.
Ken Wesniewski, president of Eagle Homes Inc., met with the Fox Lake Planning and Zoning Commission Wednesday night to present the conceptual plan for the Duck Lake Crossing project.
Wesniewski explained the development would include 81 single-family residences on 35 acres of land. Prices for the homes are expected to begin at about $170,000.
Wesniewski said the current proposal is designed to meet the suggestions and requests raised by residents when a town-home development on the site was denied in June.
In addition to the Duck Lake development, Wesniewski also presented the commission with the sketch plan for a 56-unit development at Wilmot Road and Main Street. This project, known as the Auburn Fields development, would place semi-custom-built homes starting at $200,000 on the 45-acre plot.
Both proposals will be reviewed in separate public hearings to be held Thursday in the Fox Lake Firehouse.
