Adeline C. Hackworth, 77, a 25-year resident of Hanover Park, died Wednesday in her home. Mrs. Hackworth was a homemaker who worked as a payroll clerk at General Electric Co. in Chicago for nearly six years in the 1950s. Mrs. Hackworth attended Northwestern University for two years and was a member of Epsilon Eta Thi sorority there. “She was a very caring person,” said her husband of 42 years, Noble C. “She enjoyed meeting with the ladies from (her sorority at) Northwestern. She loved garage sales.” Other survivors include two daughters, Deborah Capobasso and Carol Byers; a son, Richard; a brother, Joseph Shafranske; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, when a service will begin in Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd., Streamwood.
