The WiKaDuKe Trail moved a step closer to finalization when the WiKaDuKe Committee approved the north-south highway’s proposed route through Oswego Township.

But the process stalled recently when Oswego officials said they would prefer to wait until a study could address environmental issues before the highway’s center line is recorded with Kendall County.

Francis Klaas, Kendall County Highway Department engineer, said recording a right of way might force the county to immediately purchase property for the roadbed.
